Another year....

...

Another year has passed. Jiu Jitsu this year has seemed to take a backseat in my life. Between being busy at work, growing up, moving out of the parents house finally, meeting my wife, marrying my wife, in the process gaining a stepson who looks at me more of a father than his biological father, my wife having an abdominal mass in her rectus muscle, trying to get back into school – needless to say I haven’t done much training lately. I haven’t posted on this site in months; I’ve been way too busy dealing with all of the above: culture shock, adult-life shock and doctors.

TEXTBOOK OF JU-JITSU 1905 (VIDEO)

From an article in the Illustrated London News of March 1905; former Bartitsu Club instructor Sadakazu Uyenishi demonstrating jiujitsu restraint holds and throws for members of the Aldershot Military School’s Physical Training Corps.

In 1905, ju-jutsu pioneer Sadakazu Uyenishi and his students issued the "Textbook of Ju-jutsu". It was partly illustrated with "cinematographics" produced by the Gaumont Film Company, here re-animated for the first time in over 100 years.  This is quite possibly the earliest filmed version of the Japanese Martial Art in History.
